Call for photos

There were many cameras present during the Grand Opening Seminar and we know you took pictures - so it’s time to share! Please let us know if you captured any good shots you would like to share with us for possible inclusion on the website.

Thanks to All!

A Great Big Thank You to everyone who helped make our Grand Opening and first seminar in the new building a resounding success!

It was great to reconnect with old friends we haven’t seen in a while, as well as the new friendships we developed over the weekend.

Our special guest instructor, Pat Hendricks Sensei, was very pleased with the new dojo facility, as well as the excitement and energy of everyone in attendance.
She expressed a desire to make the seminar an annual event, and we are already making plans for her return visit next year around the same time.

Trash Pickup a Success!

Saturday, April 10th is the date of the Great Texas Trash-Off for our Adopt-A-Highway program. We plan to get started at 9am (not 10am as previously published), so arrive early enough to get settled in, beforehand. Bring gloves, sunblock, bug-spray and a “grabber” if you have one. Water is mandatory for participants, so bring enough for a few hours of outdoor activity.

UPDATE: Thanks to the few who showed up to help, we collected over 29 bags of roadside garbage, not including the stuff that wouldn’t fit in the state-supplied sacks (25’ length of rebar, anyone?).

Silent Class April 27

On Tuesday, April 27, North Texas Aikido will be observing “Silence” during the evening adult class to commemorate the passing of O-Sensei. Plan to attend this unique annual training experience. While no words will be spoken in the dojo during the entirety of the evening, you are allowed to kiai, laugh or - of course - moan in pain...

Tai Sai Celebration May 1

We will have a brief Tai Sai celebration after weapons class on May 1. Bring light snacks and beverages to share after training.

Grand Opening / Pat Hendricks Sensei Seminar - May 15-16

PatHendricks
Join North Texas Aikido May 15-16 for our Grand Opening weekend featuring a seminar conducted by Patricia Hendricks Sensei. After ten years of planning, waiting, preparation, waiting, construction, waiting and finally finishing up; we just can’t wait any longer to share our new facility with the world.

We’re honored that Hendricks Sensei will be in attendance to help us commemorate the occasion with a two-day seminar. You will not want to miss this event!
